Hello Guys,
We all want India to be a super power and with economy growing over 8% we can't have our streets represent India of 60's, its shame on Indian corporate world and Indian Politics that each public place in India will have one thing in common will be beggars asking for food or money. Even country like CUBA where you see no beggars on the street. I am reading and doing bit of a research on these street beggars of India and found out that 80% of these are part of professional’s gangs, where these gangs get a cut of the collection. These guys are not hungry its there profession. But when they come to beg it seems poor child is hungry from months etc. Also thanks to these uneducated beggars that they keep our population growth high, therefore country is always struggling to provide basic needs for survival.
To highlight this issue is not a rocket science we all know about this and we all talk about it but very few of us do something but still not enough to eliminate the problem. Each year the problem becomes bigger. So here is simple but effective solution which I am sure will work, but needs your views and thoughts and please if you agree then make sure you inform about this blog to all your friend, relative etc. so that this vision and become a reality.
In my solution one thing is very clear DO NOT TRUST POLITICIANS, and I am sure any sensible person will agree, as there are good and bad politicians but the issue is the system, which is corrupt.
So to solve this issue we have to rely on Indian Business Community. Let’s say if we ask Reliance Industries to help all beggars of Bombay by providing them with food, shelter, clothing etc. therefore no beggars on the streets of Bombay and at any time any beggar is seen on the street they should be guided to these charity units where they can sleep, eat and get clothes to wear. It will not be hard at all for any big business entity to run and manage this type of charity units, they just have to allocate funds and hire some right people to run these charity units. Now the big question is why Reliance or any other business would take up this for no reason, and you are right no Indian Business will even go close to such an issue, because they are busy making share holders happy and trying to be on the rich list of the world. But here is the catch, if they do run such charity units government should give them rebate of ½ percent in their tax rate.
This will keep the business entity happy as they get something back from the government, so all the money they spent on the charity units is recovered back plus more to keep in their pocket. This policy will keep the corrupt politicians and ineffective government run units out of the equation. So it will be win win situation for everyone.
Now if this works, then people can donate clothes, food or their time and effort into these units to help these needy people. Training, education can be provided and in long term this will also help in controlling the population of our GREAT country.
This way if you like to contribute to this cause you can walk to these units yourself and see them operate. Your donation reaches straight to the needy no hidden costs as we see with huge charities.
So boys/girls these are my thoughts please add your views and comments to help our country grow and life of an ordinary Indian gets changed not just the op end of the population.
